Damaris Invasion - Week 4 Empty Damaris Invasion - Week 4

Post by The Hive Mind Tue Jan 07, 2014 11:54 am

A Full month of bloodshed, tears, devastation and finally victory, but at what cost. The Damaris system was in tatters, The Capital has been decimated and the world was overrun with Ork raiding parties.  With the death of Warboss Snotgritz the orks had seem to have dissipated and become uncoordinated, the Eldar from the feared Twilight Sword Corsair group and the Warlock Bhaine Dhuun from Craftworld Kaelor had been right the Ork Waaagh was finished.

General Dante was quick to mobilize his forces and begin extermination runs with his Sphinx Guard and pull in survivors and militia from surrounding regions and refortify the capital.  Governor Kapak was rapidly rebuilding the city from within and opening up all his resources to this endevour and making sure the people of Damaris had as much food and lodgings as possible, even at the expense of his own comfort, Governor Kapak had never been so popular. Hadron Shard was hard at work getting the planetary infrastructure back to manageable level after the devestation of the forge, but progress was being made - a testament to the abilities of the Tech-Priests of Mars.
The Bishop Arint had pleaded with you to take the holy Relic aboard the Forward unto Dawn and to keep hold of it until a time came when Damaris was safe once again and return it to its resting place. Brother Detronimus had been only more than happy to include this in the Shrine to the God-Emperor for all to gaze upon during his sermons. You estimated Damaris would probably not recover from this war for another 10 years or so.

Lucrative Trade was set up with Damaris as per your agreement with Governor Kapak, supplying them with everything they needed to rebuild and there lucrative mines and natural resources providing payment for your House to revel in. There just remained the matter of how you were to supply the Trade. A vessel would be needed to accommodate this...

The wealth of House Atreides you had sunk into the war effort proved profitable, giving a bonus upon return and the High Factorum spoke of the contracts linking House Atreides to Damaris after the war now providing even more profit as word spread of your part in the systems defense. However it could have been greater, alot greater, but the power of the orks waaaagh had to be considered and the strength of the Orks was not one to be barked at, you'd got lucky and you new it.

With your ship all but repaired thanks to the efforts of Governor Kapak and the other Rogue Traders also almost repaired it was time to look to your next venture, once all loose ends were tied up.

General Dante had expressed that the time for an overthrow of Goverment was not now, Governor Kapak was too popular, but he insisted there would come a time he may call on House Atreides. Lady Elizabeth Orleans was satisfied with your side of your bargain, you had the relic and the power of the Ecclesiarchy was serverly diminished without it and her own private affairs within Damaris were flourishing. An alliance had been formed in blood and battle between House Atreides, Lady Elizabeth and Jeremiah Blitz, but these things always had limits.

Word would no doubt spread through the Koronus Expanse of how 3 Rogue Trader houses stood outmatched and outgunned against a full Xenos invasion of greenskins and threw them back into the Expanse.
